I've been here for more than two months - ten weeks and two days precisely. I'm at the school that Financial Times ranked no. #$ in the list of the world's best B-schools, surrounded by 579 brilliant minds, being tutored by a jaw droppingly impressive faculty, I can now make sense of a Solver report....but I don't want to write about all that. I will, but not tonight.
One memory stands out in this 10 weeks of organised madness. Finishing lunch after the morning's classes, as I picked up my bag to leave, Amit Dhingra, who was eating at the same table as mine, asked - "Going back to village? I'll come with you."

I said - "I live in SV-1, you too?" He rolled his eyes - "Manjot, you've asked me that four times in the last five weeks! Yes, we live in the same village. Sometimes we also walk back together. You should pay attention sometimes, you know."
So we were walking back, Amit and I, doing the usual thing that all ISBians do - cribbing about the long hours, the assignments, have you done that one, I haven't even started that one, etc. Now Amit Dhingra isn't really one of my best buddies or anything. I mean he's a great guy and all, but we just hang out with different crowds generally. He is one of the seriously academically inclined ones, and I, of course, am not. Which is why what happened next is really memorable.

As we neared the village, he said, "Let's go down that slope - it's shorter"
I said - "It's not shorter at all, it's absolutely the same. "
Amit - "Believe me, it's shorter."
I - "It's not. But whatever, we'll go your way, if you promise to race through the sprinkler on the slope."
He did not hesitate, did not laugh. Ok, let's run, he said and sprinted through the sprinkler.
"Hey, that was fun, let's do it again!"
I'm not sure which one of us came up with that, but the other said Fine, let's.
And we raced up and down that little slope about four times in all. It was awesome.
